Osprey's Secret of Gondolin

Pedigree

I waited 3 years for a puppy from Robin, one of the best moving dogs I have ever felt at the end of a lead. Genetics is powerful force.

Secret has a mind of her own, and has shown us how different Flat-Coats are from Goldens.

Oh, and once she's in your lap, she doesn't ever want to leave.

Secret had a litter in Febriary 2006.

We lost Secret on June 27, 2011. Her troubles started with loss of control of her rear legs, numbness caused by inflammation near her spine. We managed the get that under control for about a month. She had days where she would feel poorly, lose appetite and wanted to sleep a lot, but she would bounce back the next day. Her last few days she went downhill fairly rapidly. The numbness returned to her rear and also became lame on her right front leg. X-rays revealed an enlarged spleen, and untrasound confirmed cavities in her spleen and liver. The issue with her front leg was located at her lymph node by her upper arm. We suspect small tumors were causing the inflamation along her spine, causing the paralysis. The diagnosiswas not conclusive: either Hemangio Sarcoma or Lymphoma. But any way we looked at it, it was bad. It was in multiple sites. And even if we could attack the cancers, the paralyis of her rear was overwhelming. The potential for decent quality of life was not there, so we decided to let her go.
