Cooper was the biggest puppy in the litter and he was always breaking up fights - kind of like Gary Cooper, the Marshal in the movie High Noon. And that's how he got his name. He is a lovely liver dog with excellent movement and very nice size.
Cooper is shown as a Special in conformation on an occasional basis. He won his Canadian Championship at the Alberta specialties in a single weekend in August of 2002, capping the weekend with a Group 2 placement. That was the first time he had been shown in Canada.
The low-key picture on the upper right was taken in August 2006. He was test subject for a portrait series we did with our horses.
Here's a video of Cooper (and Julie) taken June 29, 2009, a few weeks short of his 11th birthday. He died two days later on July 1 from Hemengiosarcoma; a tumor on his liver burst and he bled out internally while in the Vet's office
A really, really great dog. We miss him.
